Jabr Data Labs LLC
Last updated: 27 October 2026
Jabr Data Labs LLC (“Jabr”, “we”) is a Texas company from Cedar Park, Texas. This policy says what information we receive when you use our website and our software, what we do with it, and what we don’t do. It is written to be read.
The short version
- The JabrDB application and every other Mac-based software we may produce keeps your data on your Mac. We never see it. That will not change.
- We receive personal information only when you give it to us: buying something, filling in a form, sending an email.
- The website uses Plausible to count visits.
- We don’t sell or rent anyone’s information, and we don’t advertise to our customers.
1. The JabrDB application
Your databases stay on your Mac. JabrDB stores everything you put into it in files on your own computer. Nothing from a database is sent to Jabr or to anyone else, and JabrDB has no feature that could do so. This is a permanent commitment.
Registration is optional and stays on your Mac. JabrDB asks for a name, email address and location when it first runs; you can skip it. Whatever you enter is stored on your Mac and shown only in JabrDB’s own screens. It is not sent to Jabr.
The licence service. When you activate, check or deactivate a licence key, JabrDB contacts our licence service at licence.jabrdatalabs.com. That request carries three things: your licence key, the name your Mac gives itself (for example “Robin’s MacBook Air”, so you can tell your activations apart), and the version of JabrDB. It carries nothing from your databases and nothing from registration. The licence service runs on Cloudflare, which records the request’s origin address and time in ordinary server logs. The licence service passes your key to Lemon Squeezy (see §2) to confirm it is valid.
Updates. Once a day JabrDB asks downloads.jabrdatalabs.com whether a newer version exists. That request carries the version you are running and your Mac’s operating-system version, so that you are only offered updates that will run. It carries no personal information. The downloads host runs on Cloudflare and keeps ordinary server logs.
Crash reports. If JabrDB crashes, macOS may offer to send a report to Apple. That goes to Apple under Apple’s terms, not to us. JabrDB itself sends no diagnostics.
2. Buying from us
Software (JabrDB) is published by Jabr Data Labs LLC and sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the reseller and merchant of record. When you buy, Lemon Squeezy takes the payment, issues the receipt and the licence key, and calculates and collects any sales tax or VAT. Your card details go to Lemon Squeezy and its payment processors and never reach us. Lemon Squeezy passes us your name, email address, the country you bought from and what you bought, so that we can support you and honour refunds. Lemon Squeezy’s privacy policy: https://www.lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
Books (currently just Data Algebra) are sold through our own store on this website, with payment taken by Stripe. We receive your name, email, shipping address and order; Stripe receives your card details, which we never see. Printed books are made and shipped by Lulu, so we pass your name and shipping address to Lulu to print and post your order. Stripe: https://stripe.com/privacy · Lulu: https://www.lulu.com/privacy-policy
We keep order records for as long as tax law requires, which in the United States is seven years.
3. The website
Analytics. We use Plausible Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. Plausible sets no cookies and stores no addresses. So that one person is not counted twice in a day, it makes a one-way hash of your address and browser together with a secret that is destroyed and replaced every twenty-four hours; nothing survives that could recognise you afterwards, today’s count cannot be joined to tomorrow’s, and nothing follows you to any other site. What reaches us is the page, the site you arrived from, your country and — as far as your network reveals it — region and city, and roughly what device and browser you used. We read it in aggregate and make no attempt to identify anyone. The data is processed and held in the European Union, it remains ours rather than Plausible’s, and it is never sold, shared or used for advertising. Because none of this needs your consent, the site shows no cookie notice. Plausible’s data policy: https://plausible.io/data-policy
Forms. If you fill in a contact or order form, we receive what you typed. Forms are handled by Fluent Forms on our own site; nothing is sent to a third party except payments (§2).
Newsletter. If we offer a newsletter and you subscribe, we keep your email address to send it, using a mailing service, and every issue has an unsubscribe link. We do not add anyone to a list who did not ask.
Hosting and logs. The website is hosted by WP Engine, which keeps ordinary web-server logs (address, page, time, browser) for security and to keep the site running. DNS and the licence and downloads services run on Cloudflare, which keeps the same kind of logs.
Cookies. The site sets only the cookies WordPress and WooCommerce need in order to work — to remember your basket and, if you have an account, that you are signed in. There are no analytics cookies and no advertising cookies, which is why there is no cookie banner to dismiss.
Refunds are handled under our Refund and Returns Policy at https://jabrdatalabs.com/refund_returns/ and our Terms & Conditions at https://jabrdatalabs.com/terms-and-conditions/.
4. Email
If you email us — for support, refunds, or anything else — we keep the correspondence so we can help you and so that we have a record if you write again. We don’t add you to any list because you wrote to us.
5. What we don’t do
We don’t sell, rent or trade personal information. We don’t show advertising and we don’t work with advertising networks. We don’t build profiles of anyone. We don’t collect information from children knowingly; the site and the software are for adults.
6. Your rights
You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we will do so unless the law requires us to keep it (tax records, for instance). If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California, the law gives you these rights formally; we extend them to everyone. Write to support@jabrdata.com.
7. Where information is kept
We are in the United States and our services are hosted there. If you are outside the United States, the information described above is transferred there. The exception is website analytics, which Plausible processes and stores in the European Union (§3).
8. Changes
If this policy changes we will change the date at the top and, for anything that matters, say what changed. The commitments in section 1 about the JabrDB application will not change. On 19 September 2026 we removed Google Analytics and the cookie notice that went with it, and replaced them with Plausible, which uses no cookies.
