JabrDB currently runs on Apple silicon Macs with macOS 14 or later. The download is the complete program: everything works for 15 days, and after that it no longer allows new data to be added, but it keeps reading, querying, backing up and exporting your data – until a licence key is entered. JustForms, the forms capability, is included with JabrDB.

Download JabrDB 1.0 (about 18 MB)

Installing

  1. Open the downloaded file, JabrDB-1.0.0-….dmg, from your Downloads folder.
  2. Drag the JabrDB icon onto the Applications folder in the window that appears, then eject the disk image.
  3. Open JabrDB from Applications. The first time, macOS will say the app was downloaded from the internet and that Apple checked it — click Open. (JabrDB is signed and notarised by Apple; you will not see an “unidentified developer” warning.)
  4. Read and agree to the Terms of Use, then register — or click Skip. Registration is optional and the data stays on your Mac.
  5. Experiment with the small DemoDB, or choose Open Harbourside Trading to start exploring a larger database, or create a database of your own.

If you have a licence key

Your key arrived in the receipt email. In JabrDB choose JabrDB ▸ Licence…, paste the key, and click Activate. One key works on up to three Macs; to move the database from one Mac to another, choose Deactivate this Mac in JabrDB (in About) on the old one first.

Lost the file or the receipt email? Everything you have bought is listed in your account downloads.

Updates

JabrDB checks for updates once a day and offers them to you; nothing installs without your say-so. You can also choose JabrDB ▸ Check for Updates… at any time. Updates within version 1.00 are included with every licence.
