About Jabr Data Labs

Jabr Data Labs LLC builds database and application software on a single mathematical foundation called the Algebra of Data. Instead of treating tables, documents, graphs, and other data shapes as separate problems requiring separate engines, our products are built on one small set of algebraic operations that work at every level, from a single record up to an entire database. The flagship of that work is JabrDB, the algebraic database, along with a growing suite of applications built on top of it.

We are a small, focused company. Our approach favors mathematical clarity over accumulated special cases, and we would rather ship a smaller number of tools built on solid foundations than a long list of features bolted on for their own sake.

About Robin Bloor

Robin Bloor is an industry analyst, author, and co-founder of Jabr Data Labs. He is the co-author, with mathematician Gary Sherman, of The Algebra of Data (2015), which set out the mathematical foundation, couplets, relations, clans, and hordes, that Jabr Data Labs’ software is built on. He writes regularly about data algebra, databases, and software design, and continues to work on translating that mathematics into practical tools for people who have databases to run.
